Clare Island campsite is situated close to the pier, the beach, the community centre and Sailor’s Bar.

The campsite costs €12 per tent regardless of length of stay.

THERE IS NO NEED TO BOOK AS WE DO NOT RESERVE SPACES ON THE CAMPSITE.

There are showers (cold), a drinking water tap and toilets available. Facilities are basic, but the location is unriavelled being so close to the beach. The sea can be your giant bathtub.

Although we do have a local shop 2.5km from the campsite, we do not have a supermarket or camping supplies to buy on the island. Campers are best to come prepared so as to not be disappointed when here. During the summer months both the Community Centre and the Sailor’s Bar serve lunch and dinner.

All island waste has to be transported off the island for disposal. Campers are encouraged to bring their rubbish home with them in accordance with the Leave No Trace ethos when visiting wild places. Thanks for you assistance in keeping Clare Island green.

NB: The coastguard helipad is located close to the Campsite. In the event of a helicopter landing or takeoff please keep a safe distance from the helipad. Retreat to inside the Community Centre building or to the beach area if safe to do so and do not approach the helipad. Please note that in the event of an emergency evacuation at night via helicopter campers may be asked to move their tents at short notice – we thank you for your assistance in this matter. Please comply with instructions for your own safety.
